The Little White Truck ... with attitude!

Here's a new twist on an old theme ... Russell's 1987 Grand National powered 1996 S-10 truck! He purchased this truck as a credit union "repo" that didn't run and was otherwise thoroughly trashed. When Russell got it home, it became apparent that the previous owner had driven it off into a creek and left it, as the frame rails were packed with river silt!

It took a weekend with a pressure washer to lighten it up by 200 or so pounds (of sand!). After 2 1/2 years and many thousands of $$$, it has "become" an essentially new truck, having replaced just about everything from the rear axle to the bed, to the front grille.

Motor

  • '86 #109 block with billet 2 & 3 caps,
  • 030" bore

  • Owner modded "Poston" 3" down-pipe with "Jet-Hot" silver coating
  • 3" (thru-pipe) stock cat & "Dynamax" raceflow with mandrel-bent 3" full exhaust

Suspension/Tires

  • Ford Ranger 8.8" 3.73 locker narrowed 2"
  • Stock rear (2 leaf) springs with "CalTrac" traction bars
  • "Weld Racing" star wheels, 15x10 with Hoosier 325-50x15's
  • "Bell-Tech" 2" drop front spindles, 15x7 with 235-70x15's

Performance

  • Tuning done with TurboLink software, boost sensing cable & 3 bar MAP
  • Times compliments of G-Tech Comp - at present as truck has only 200 break-in miles!
  • Weight: 3640 with driver & 1/2 tank of fuel (also fiberglass bed cover)
    • 60ft: 2.24
    • 0-60: 4.69
    • 1/8 mile: 8.15
    • 1/4 mile: 12.88
