8.5 or 7.5 rear????which one??

I don't know much about rear ends but what do i have?? a 7.5 or a 8.5 I only ask because i was told 7.5 by a buick site and 8.5 by locals??? thanks

An '85 should have an 8.5" from the factory. In rare instances, people have found that their cars have had the 8.5" removed because of its value and traded for a wimpy 7.5". That would be very unusual. Chances are 99.9% that you still have the factory 8.5" intact.

Look under the car if it the rear end center section [looking to the front from the rear] looks like a perfect circle it's a 7.5 if you see a right angle at the lower right and left of the center section than its an 8.5. HTH :shock:

Thanks Royal-T, yeah 8.5 i think it was turbobuick that i heard that from. We where talking about if i could swap a blazer/or 8.5 disc brake rear end. Then some guy said ALL TRs have 7.5s, oh well thanks guys BIG HELP FOUND A POSI!!!!
