I changed my oil\filter 2 weeks. I thought I was doing my engine a favor by adding a can of Restore. This could be a coincidence but I've developed a rattle in engine. The engine sounded fine before. I know these engines have tight clearances, could this stuff plug an oil passage?

Why would you use this stuff? :nono:

A quick search of the net found one Jeep discussion site where someone had responded to a similar post on Restore with "The last time I used it on an engine, the loosened sludge clogged my oil pick-up tube and I blew the motor."

Do you have a oil pressure gauge? Might be worth dropping the pan an having a look. Or at least check your crank sensor and make sure its not the cause of the knock.

Restores been around for years. I've used it in other cars. Thought it was a good product. The engine was probably ready to go anyway. It wasn't making any power when I it bought due to the exhaust. I got that fixed and couldn't keep my foot out of it. The car has no gauges that work, but it will before I drive it again. I cut the filter open, looked like I stuck gold. Bad news.
I only gave $1000. for the car but it still sucks. :(
