Not really good at holding boost or the extreme temperatures of the turbo motors.

Best headgaskets will have a stainless steel fire ring around the cylinder. The stockers, Cometics, and some of the Victor gaskets work the best.

Steel gaskets work well on the earlier hot air cars ...

Aren't the stock 86/87 gaskets available under a Victor or other aftermarket P/N? I forget...

FWIW, the Cometics may be a lot better (though more expensive) for these motors.

I recorded Victor head gasket P/N 5819 when I was researching gasket sets.

5819 for stock bore
5820 for overbore
5820SG for high zoot NitroSeal

Not sure how much overbore the 5820 supports, but I'd wager it don't make a difference unless you are going over 30 thou, and I'd be worried about wall thickness and parts availability in that case.
