I just bought a 87 Lt Rosewood T in Maryland from an insurance auction, it was a recovered theft, just trying to find the previous owner to find out some history. Its missing a good bit but I will restore it. Thanks for any help.

Unless its missing the VIN, posting it might help a bit.

If that's the car PM me I'll put you in touch with the owner. I think he wanted to buy it back but the insurance sold it to the auction house before he could work it out.

Interested to find out how you found out that the car was for sale and if you are a Buick junky like the rest of us? Also how much did you have to pay for it?

Yes thats the car, it looks worse than those pictures, a few spots were damaged by the wreckers and the forklift drivers moving it around its now in south carolina. I paid $2500 + aucton fees and fuel to go get it, ended up around 3000 in it in my shop. The rad, fans,ic,rear axle, wheels, radio, exhaust and driveshaft are gone, some wires underdash are cut and looks like a boost gauge and some misc things missing. I've always wanted a rosewood car so I have no plans to sell it but Id still like to talk to the past owner. Thanks guys.

How do you add pictures? I have the ones from where I bought it. I buy salvage cars and trucks and any GN's I can find, there are 3 on my watch list if anyone else needs missing car info. They are in Wilmington NC, Atlanta GA and Indiana.

Tried posting several days ago, hope it works this time. Yes thats the car, I checked magna and see it was tim types car. I'd like to contact him, find some history and tell him its being restored. To the next question yes I'm a buick nut, well all muscle cars, I've owned a few 86/87's but always wanted a rosewood color.

How do you add pictures?
Sit tight; As soon as the board upgrade gets fired off, the picture posting will work again. I expect that to happen in a few days.

Note: If this is going to turn into an extended chat, but not about a theft or a recovery, let's move it into another area (i.e. the Intercooled area, etc.). Since this area is moderated, its not really a good spot for chat. It looks like we've already found a connection to the original owner.

So here I am about 10 months later to the day that my car was stolen. :furious: I just found out that the guy from SC who bought it at auction apparently sold it to some guy who owns 'G Body Parts' in NC. Has anyone heard of this guy before? Better yet, has anyone heard about my car in awhile? I almost cry every time I see a T Type. I still have yet to see another rosewood (especially with the factory astroroof).
