E85

Has anyone tried or does anyone know if E85 will work as an octane booster?I hear it is approx.120 octane.Could 3-4 gallons be added to a tank of 93 octane pump gas?The resulting octane should be about 98.Thanks in advance.

E85 is 110 octane. I've been running 6 gallons of e85 with half a tank of 93 and seems to work. I have my boost at 18 pounds and no knock. This is with a TT chip burned for a stock turbo (have a TE 44 on the car)with 10% fuel added and 5 degrees of timing removed.

Thanks,thats exactly the info I was looking for.What injectors are you running?I have a stock turbo and injectors with a TT chip also.I waslooking for an inexpensive alternative until I can afford alky and injectors.Thanks again!!

Injecters are Mototron 60#. My block learn numbers are leaner at idle and at cruise with E85 but they are still within range.
