My shifter handle broke; the plastic part cracked. Anyway, anyone got one for sale or know where I can get one? Anyone tried repairing one with glue?

There is often not enough surface area for the glue to really work. Something like JB Weld or PC-7 might. A new or gently used replacement is the best option.

Is it a column shift? I have one if it is, that is if the 84 t-type is the same shifter. Let me know if your interested.

Its a floor console mount.

Phil, don't want a billet. Seems like it would be cold to the touch quite a bit, living in Mi. Did the F-body shifter need any rework or did it mount right on?

it took a little modding, the clip come in from the side.. Just a few mins with the dremel..

Yes, you can still buy the shifter handle new and that's all you get. There are 8 pieces to a complete shifter handle and some of them have been discontinued for some time.

Worked out great Phil. See pics with my shifter handle and new part, my shifter handle pieces taken apart (in minutes) and new assembly. Hardest part was pushing the new assembly down far enough on the shifter shaft to put the retaining clip back into the groove. All the parts were glued from the factory. I didn't reglue anything. Will do if they come apart on me.

The shaft is discontinued from GM. You'll have to look else where. I have complete new shift handles but they aren't cheap.

From my own experience I just used what I had in my broken handle which still worked. I only needed the handle, I didn't think the rest of the parts were discontinued. I still see people selling the complete shifter handle assembly for like $55-60
