And will it have the bar to be legal? That is the question...

Methinks he has learned from the other car all the good and the bad.

correct Scott..

It will be capable of high 10's :drive: but im gonna just put a safe tune in it and keep running mid to low 11's.. "without breaking stuff" :woot:

What was the initial combo for comparison?

stock long block
hemo
eastern FMIC
SMC dual nozzle alky
Limit 67 Turbo
WCC 10inch converter
ATR "knock off headers" with custom non leaking flanges and ported
TT chip
regular translator
LS1 MAf
72# injectors
reds double pumpers
comp cams 100# springs
T&D roller rockers

Not too bad of a combo to start with!!! You will have a screaming machine when done I'm sure... Tom G.

With A/C even!

With A/C even!

and quick ratio power steering...

Trust me , ill never head down the same road i took the TType.. Sure it was fun, but it sucked for everyday driving..

Betcha I can do 11.40s' with less than you did. ;-)

Heres how it starts Phil.....

Ive got a nice set of fresh M&A's for a little bit more than youll spend on good irons:brows: Virgin 14 bolt heads setup by Champion,1.9/1.6 valves, bowls have been blended

Looks like all you needed was the ported heads and cam with that combo.

How many #'s to run 11.40's with the 67 pn the stock longblock?

PaCemkr86
01-10-2009, 06:08 PM
about 15 passes.. and this was all done on a foot brake leaving at 5 or less psi of boost with 2.2 60 ft's .. If i had had a transbrake it would have ran high 10's.

And Scott, don't tell me what you can do , SHOW ME :brows:

Keller

Its 30F here...give me a few months. Granted, it won't be with any 2.2 short times...

PaCemkr86
01-10-2009, 10:47 PM
I hear ya.. I'm up in the air about adding a transbrake to this car.. I know if i do ill have to upgrade the suspension, axles, etc... Its all factory stuff in there now except for the tubular front A arms.. I'll see if i can find a copy of the last dyno pull i made with this GN.. It made 430 to the wheels and 5500 rpm

PaCemkr86

some fresh JE's, comp roller cam, just the usual engine overhaul..

i wasnt planning on it..

Ts86ttype

Phil, I know the lower ends are fairly heavy duty, but I'm still wondering on my own engine block to go with the RJC Girdle. Once you've got the top end tight with studs and GOOD head gaskets I'm concerned about blowing out the lower end... Any thoughts??? Tom G.

PaCemkr86
01-25-2009, 01:48 PM
well you know RJC sells top notch stuff.. I would consider a girdle.. But im not planning on pushing the limits of this engine.. It will be under 500 HP "barely"

Keller
01-25-2009, 03:43 PM
Once you start heading north of there is where you really need to start beefing up the bottom end.

Ts86ttype
01-25-2009, 04:07 PM
Scott, Thanks for the impute. I guess I would rather overkill on making a strong block than take it apart again. I may not push it all the time, the times that I do, I would like the security that it will hold together for another day... Phil is a much more experienced racer than I am and will probably hold back, rather than over do the limits of his engine. Tom G.
