Alright, so I got a new rear end put into my '84 Regal, and now whenever I hit any kind of bump in the road, there's a loud bang coming from the rear axle area. Any idea what this could be? Also, I should note that it's a different differential, so now my speedometer is messed up too. How's that fixed?

Well, the bang means something is loose. Could be an arm not bolted down, a missing bushing, etc. Or it might be hitting the exhaust or floor.
As far as the wrong readings, if you know what the new ratio is, you need to change gears either in the trans, speedo cable, or both. See http://www.transmissioncenter.net/speedometer_calibration_______va.htm Note that tire size may have to be taken into account if yours are not stock diameter.

How about those digital gauges that Nordskog makes? Would one of those do the trick? I love digital anyways, probably would get one regardless...

Still need to know your gear ratio, tire size, and transmission.

You were absolutely right; it was the lower bushings under the springs. The guy at the shop that replaced the rear end made two mistakes. I took it to another shop, very trusted by a friend of mine, and he informed me that the other mechanic did not replace those bushings, and in fact sold me a bent driver side axle. Good times; thanks for the help!
