I'm working with 2 blocks, both are casting # 25524140 out of an '85 GN. Both are 9.565" deck height. When searching for pistons, I see all are listed at 1.825" CH, which, when put into my engines will install the pistons -.080" below deck and give me only 7.5:1 compression. Not good.

What were ALL the factory deck heights of the Buick GN V6 blocks?

What is the safe max cut on a hot-air turbo V6 deck?

Thanks,
Mike

Too lazy to go out and dig up the PowerSource book .. BUT ...

The hot air blocks should be slightly taller, since they used the metal shim head gaskets instead of the thicker composite gaskets of the 86/87.

Pretty sure in '86 deck height is 0.035" shorter .. the composite gaskets were 0.058".

Stage II blocks were 9.535" (a lot of good it does you, but found that in my notes ...)
