weight differences

Compared to a hardtop car,Does any one know the weight difference between,t-top, and astro roof? And how much of a weight savings is associated with aluminum bumper brackets? I have not weighed my 87-T yet, I'm just curious. How rare was the al. bumper brackets? Hope someone can help me. Thanks BLUICK

From experience, the roofs are pretty equivalent in weight and add around 125 lbs to the car (glass, mechanisims, rigidity braces, etc.).

The aluminum bumper mounts are another 50 lbs or so savings.

I thought we had my buddy Chuck Strader's "diet" plan for his TR where he weighed everything as he put his infamous "Gray Car" on a weight reduction plan. I've scanned thru the technical section and can't find it though. I know he published it in the GSCA Xtra many moons ago.
