installing new springs that cam with kit.. just wondering what these metal retainer type things are that go on the springs, and if they are still needed
never seen before.

Those are dampners that are used with the stock springs. They reduce harmonics in the spring (and stiffen it slightly) since it is a single spring (and not double).

Are these from Comp? They don't look like Comp springs, but look like stockers?

they are comp cams beehive springs, came with kit..

Hmmm... I think a call to Comp may be in order. Are those part number 26915-12?

I think they might also cross to LS2 aluminum headed motors too and I don't ever recall seeing the dampener on them?

sorry, the spring in the pic was one of the stock springs w/dampener on it..... my bad:duh:
was just wondering if i needed to transfer them to the new springs..

Ahhh. That is what I thought! In that case.... No. Those are only used with the stickers.
