In looking to acquire a complete power antenna I have come across vendors and others selling antennas that have part numbers that do not exactly match the original number listed in my 44W parts catalogue.

As best I recall the parts cat calls for a 22048605. I have seen 22048604 antennas for sale stating they fit the GN. I have also seen a vendor with a "reproduction" antenna that has a part number of 220486.

My question concerns the last two digits of the part number. Is this just some indication of a bracket that may or may not be needed or can be transfered. The reproduction antenna seems to indicate this as it does not have the last two numbers.

See the articles at http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/bodygauges/interiorpage.html The part numbers are in the articles as well. The bracket is a separate part number from the antenna.

Note that these numbers may be discontinued, as these cars are well beyond the age the parts are supposed to be produced by GM. Check with a GM source to see if they've been superseded.

Hi-

Facing a similar issue - need to replace the power antenna. I know the part number for an "original" AC Delco power antenna is 22048604, however, they are rare and EXPENSIVE - I have seen prices of 260-350$.

So, I was wondering if anyone has replaced their antenna with a reproduction or an antenna with a part number that super cedes 22048604?

I found one for 165$ at cars.inc under Buick section that says:
Power Antenna
1982-1987 All Regal, Grand National, T-type
Accepts your existing antenna nut, antenna lead connector and antenna tip
A very nice reproduction
Replaces GM #22048604

Will this work? Thanks!!

Sam
