my 84 wh1 seems to be spuddering or misfiring, but only when in drive. when parked or neutral it runs beautiful and revs right up and my boost meter seems to be working properly. I have changed plugs and wires, mass air sensor, map sensor, cleaned the throttle body, fuel pump, and filter, and there is no check engine light on. Any other ideas because I am stumped up to this point. this car only has 82K on it and has been parked for almost 10 years. Someone please help.

im no expert on an hot air car but the 86-87 cars eat up coil packs/modules alot an does the same thing.

It might be worth doing an ohm check on your coil pack. Is it the original?

Thanks For The Quick Reply. It Is Still The Original. That Was My Next Step, But I Heard From The Discussion Group That Replacement Parts Stores Do Not Provide A Good Replacement. Should I Look For An New Oem Coil Pack?

They may no longer be available.

Actually, you can migrate to the 86/87 coil/module. A LOT cheaper and more available. Check the instructions and parts list here http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/ignition/module.html

Heck...while you're at it, go for a 86/87 ECM. Available from a lot of other cars. (Old Centurys and Cieras, for instance) See http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/ecmsensors/8487ecm.html

I would still suggest real GM pieces. Go with a discount source so that you don't have to break the bank, however. There are a few here http://www.gnttype.org/vendors/gmparts.html

Ok I am working on getting a new ignition module and coil pack. Someone had also told me that the crank pulley could have loosened up and caused the harmonic balancer to be uneven, and or the intake manifold might have a vaccum leak. I was going to replace every single vaccum hose in the car anyway.

You might want to try checking kv on your secondary ignition first .Ignition coil packs and modules are not that cheap . Just a thaught
