View Full Version : alternator mounted with eye bolt?

ive seen this in person on about three cars and double that in pics ive come across here and there, a few in this site as well. curious why this is done. the ones ive seen take a long shank eye bolt an use it in place of the short bolt that runs through the small upper alt. ear.

Those are installed for use with a special strap to be used as a "torque strap" because the stock motor mounts have a lot of give or flex in them.
