My 87 GN has a sagging headliner. Not having much luck finding a stock replacement, so I've decided to overhaul mine. I'd like to use a fabric as close in color and texture to stock as possible. Any suggestions?
Also looking for best method for removing the metal trim around the headliner. Is there a special tool to remove the trim from the clips, or are the clips one of those "break and replace" items?

How many choices do you need?

The side trim pieces are easy to get off. You actually can just pull them to one side (forget if it is in or out) and unhook from the other side. The front and rear are more complicated. Those clips must be pushed in from the sides to remove from the roof, as I recall. They can be removed without breaking if you take your time and use a few small screwdrivers to do it.

I recovered my original cardboard panel. Frankly, one of the ABS panels is probably more sturdy and less trouble to get in without damage. I had to repair a few spots on my panel and my car has low miles.
