I'm currently installing several gauges into my TTA. I have a new boost gauge, and knock gauge going in the a-pillar. I can fit one more gauge and wanted to know what was more useful: air/fuel gauge or exhaust temp gauge? I am confused to what diagnosis can be made from either gauge. I have read that either can be used to determine rich & lean conditions. Is this accurate? Which is more useful to determine this, and what readings should I be looking for on these gauges for an essentially stock TTA? Thank you for your help!

Air/fuel changes a lot during regular driving. To get an accurate reading, it'd really need to be digital, and come from the ECM output as the Scanmaster tool does or a scan tool does. EGT guages are available and readings at WOT are valuable for tuning. I prefer a 'meter' that has peak-hold for use at the track and use this for tuning in concert with a scan tool and find it very valuable. But have seen a 'gauge' style unit for use in a pillar. See http://www.gnttype.org/vendors/index.html and look up Westburg/Westach. Their EGT is popular. See http://www.westach.com/images/showcase/2C2S-EGT.jpg for a pic. These are for use in aircraft, too, and thus should be accurate. They also have combination gauges if you get hooked on several things and your wallet just can't get enough.
