I have an early Powerlogger EGT adapter, and an going to try (yet) another EGT probe with it. However, its leads are attached to the probe, and look to be a little shorter than I'd like. They wont' reach into the cabin, at least not where I currently have the EGT adapter.

Is it OK to move the adapter closer to the EGT location and extend the adapter wires? The EGT wires will not be touched. I don't see how this would affect anything, but just want to do a head check. I want to avoid the engine compartment, but currently have the adapter in the glovebox, which makes routing difficult.

My guess is between the EGT adapter (which I assume is a cold junction amp) and the logger is probably fairly noise tolerant. If it's not analog, then it's a total non-issue.

Extending the wires on the probe side means having to use the right thermocouple wire (it's gotta be of the same metals and hooked up correctly).
