Well today I endured the shame of the tow truck winching my GN onto the flatbed. That was followed by the silent and rather sullen ride home in the truck.....had to call my wife to come get me.....oh the shame of it all. I'm about 112% sure the motor is toasted....making an awful racket that sounds like someone shaking a bag of hammers. Think maybe the crank bearings went. So, I'm gonna have to build me a motor. Where to start? Okay, anyone out there got a 109 block? Any experts out there located near Boston? Can I shoot your pistol? More to follow, thanks

First, that sucks!:rasp:

We're here for you! :D

I'd wait to see what the tear down reveals (and take pictures!) It might not be as bad as you fear (always worth hoping!) Unless something REALLY let go, you probably don't need the block ...

SO... let us know what you find when you take it apart?

Thanks for the encouraging words Ken. It might take me a long while but I'm a bit more optimistic about things. Nowadays I can't physically do too much....I'm guessing this may take a long time. More to follow
