I've been getting really low (7lbs) oil pressure at idle. I get a light knocking noise on startup that goes away after a few seconds. I've been told I should drop the oil pan and check the main bearings and rod bearings. How do I do this? My ignorance is really going to shine here, but where is the oil pan? how do I remove to drop it? Where will the main bearings be, and how will I know if they are damaged? Where are the rod bearings? Where do I get replacement rod bearings and main bearings? Is there a specific brand I should use? Thanks!

This is not something I would recommend to a novice ...

Take it to a trusted TR shop in your area and have them diagnose/look at it.

The trick is to find someone who knows what they are looking at when they get the oil pan down, the caps off, and the bearing out.

If it is bearings, there's a pretty good chance you'll need to do a total rebuild at that point.
