Can anybody tell me what the correct steering wheel horn cap emblem should be when option B19 is present? (87 GN WE-2 OPTION)
Is there a picture of it somewhere?
Thanks.

It should be the Buick "Tri-shield" cap (not the "T").

Thanks Ken.
I see your running at 650hp.
Can you give me some direction on how to bring up to 400 hp?
Stewart.

I agree. However...

There is a chance that some of the last run of GN's may have been delivered with red "T" emblems on the horn button instead. I am not sure how to verify this story.

The grey Buick tri-sheild and the red "T" were the only two horn emblems used on '87 Regal models with the sport steering wheel. The '84-'86 cars had the T-Type instead of the T, of course.

Sorry about that SK. Will do in the future.

OK, if it's possible that the red T could have been there, then I probably do have the original cap.
Regardless, it's being changed to the 3 x Buick shield.
I was questioned by a very cool US border gaurd the other day why the red T was there and got me wondering if it was the right or wrong part.

She (yup, female) absolutly knew her stuff and asked more questions about the car then why I was crossing the border!
She actually told me to "drive fast" as I was leaving.
I stopped, stuck my head out and said "seriously"
As soon as she said "go for it" the foot went to the floor.
Nothing like opening it up in front of the officials!!!

Very cool story!

However, very strong odds are that it isn't the original cap. They break pretty easily and lots have been replaced over the years.

What was the build date of the car?

Just phoned the PO and he told my "yes" he did replace it back around 90-91, but can't remeber what the original looked like.
Car's not here today (rain again).
Can you tell the build date from the serial #?
455278

Not really, just because ALL G-bodies came off the same line so that is relative to the number of G-body (Cutlass, Regal, Monte) cars made on the line.

However, it's pretty late in the series (most of the "first" build cars were in the 44000 series). The "late" build ones were usually in the 45000s.

The build should be in the door jam and if it has the original coil pack (doubtful) it'll be on the a sticker on the side of it.
