Hello All

What donor vehicle MAF works the best with the stock Computer Sys for an 87 GN/Regal System?

What do you need to do to tune the system for the different MAF and other up grades?

I am new to the Tuning Game, so I should probably ease into it at first I guess.

I have a Pent 4 Laptop with Windows XP, what software or hardware do you experts recommend, and what would the cost be like?

Thanks in Advance for any assistance.

Dusty

You need a MAF translator box from full throttle. Then you can use an lt1 or LSx style MAF.

This upgrade is well worth it. Improve idle etc.. You will see a nice improvement over the stock setup

The LT1 3" sensor is found on mid-90's F-bodies and B-Bodies.

The LS1 3.5" sensor is found on late 90's and early 00's F bodies.

There is a larger MAF from the ZO6 of a similar era, but it requires wiring adapters, larger piping, etc.

Pacemaker knows these well.

Do you have to use a laptop or will these MAF translators function with the stock 87 ecm?

No laptop needed for installation. Some sort of scan tool is always best for fine tuning, but you can get it running fine without.

I just installed a GENll Translator with the Extender G chip so far I really like it.
If you want simple its not the way to go but I'm always tweaking so it is fun for me. A scan tool is a must for anything you use should be your first upgrade IMO even if its bone stock.
