Hello All,

Newbie here with a question about if GN aluminum brake drums will fit a stock Regal. I picked up a 1984 Buick Regal for a Cadillac 500 swap and am interested in some GN parts to help out the Regal. Always loved those G-Bodys and since a real GN was not in the cards, a 500 swap should be fun.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think the aluminum drums used on non-posi 8.5" rear ends should work fine on the 7.5" rear ends. After all, they use the same brakes.

Not to sound too ignorant here but what would be the difference between the brakes on a GN 8.5" Posi & the non Posi rear? I thought they used the same brakes. BTW Aluminum Drums will swap for sure, I just did it on my car.

TIA

As I said, they use the same brakes.

I'm just ponting out, for the benefit of TR owners, that a non-TR has a smaller ring gear rear end. A big consideration for those doing engine swaps, because its a weak point.

Frankly, the aluminum drums aren't known for strength or longevity, either.
