Sorry to post this here, but there really isn't an area to post this type of question on this forum.

Hello all... new to this site.

I just recently bought a 1985 Regal something or other. Looks just like a GN, but the VIN is wayyyyy off. VIN# is 1G4GM47H9FP112676

According to the VIN, this car is a USA built, GM, Buick, Regal, Regal Limited, 305 V-8, 1985, Built in Pontiac Michigan.

Now.... under the hood on the emissions label on the A/C suitcase it says,

"This vehicle conforms to TRANSPORT CANADA emissions regulations applicable to 1987 model year new passenger cars".

In the upper left of the emissions label is says,
NCX
H2G3.8V9XE8(or B)0
7BO-2E

And the car has a Kilometer per hour speedo.

I am totally confused by this.

I'm pretty sure the car is an 1985 Regal limited T-Tops V-8 car with probably a 87 GN drivetrain. But the emissions label shows it as a Canadian Turbo 3.8L vacuum diagram. I would assume it started life out as a USA car (i.e. the "1" at the beginning of the VIN), got the drivetrain of a Canadian GN (i.e. the Canadian A/C emissions label and suitcase & the KPH speedo) and slammed it all together.

Anybody with an actual GM VIN decoding book that could help me would be appreciated. I used to have one from working at the dealership, but lost it along the way. I had heard something about Canada buying a group of these cars for special pursuit, maybe it's one of those?? Or are there different VIN codings for Canada??

Thanks for anyones help in advance.
