What do you guyus think of putting 275/60s (a 28 inch tall tire) on a stock rim, steel drums, newer springs and shocks. No racing. A Show car and a daily driver in the summer.

Thanks,
Steve

I think the rims are about an inch too narrow. (MY OPINION!)

Looking at http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/assets/pdf/comp_ta_drag_radial.pdf (for BFG Drag Radials) they say 7.5" will work. But when I've seen that profile (275/60) on a stock T or GN rim (7"), it just looks like it wants to come off the rim. The only thing worse is the 275/50, since it has less sidewall.

Again, my feeling is that a wider rim is what is needed for that size tire. You can get GN or T wheels widened. See http://www.trudesignwheel.net/buick_olds_wheels.html A wider T wheel is also available as the old American Racing "Vector". See http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/pictureguides/wheels/twheels.html
