Hello, welcome to my nightmare...
Car - 1985 olds 442
Donor - 1987 Turbo T
Swap - Engine and tranny
Progress - Everything complete under the hood
Problem - No start
Facts - Hotwired fuel pump working
Spark is present
S.E.S. Light solid
When ALDL A+B connections shorted, code 12 only
Question - ECM, EPROM, Cam Sensor, or what?

P.S. All wires under the hood are unchanged.I added six power souces for the plug behind fuse box, and wired the passenger side plug from computer.

P.P.S. I'm hoping to drive it a least once before winter.......

Has the crank sensor been removed? Could be installed on the wrong 'notch'.

Nothing was removed for the swap, only wires were disconnected.
I tagged all wires before disconnecting, and triple checked after motor
was dropped in. I added electrical grease to all connectors.
Changed spark plugs, wires.
I had the donor car running with no problems before the swap.
What is the way to find out if injectors are working?
Also, is IAC supposed to make "liquid bubbling" sounds when ignition is on?
Thanks for the input.

Best way to check injectors is to put a "noid light" on the connector and see if they are getting a signal.

Check fuel pressure to make sure you have adequate rail pressure.

If cam sensor is unplugged or really out of whack, it won't start.

Here's a trouble shooting chart that might help:

The "bubbling" sound may be due to low fuel pressure, and might be coming from the regulator. Its nearby. Have you checked the fuel pressure?

I don't have a pressure gauge or noid light, but it looks like i'm going to need them. "Bubbling" sound happens only if i ground one of the circuits (P or R) from the computer plug on the passenger side under the dash, but it might be something completelly different.
How can cam or crank sensor get out of "whack", i didn't remove mine, and all the wires are connected properly.
I'll try to follow the diagnosis. Thanks.

The "bubbling" sound might be the stepper motor in the IAC bottoming out. Hopefully it's not chewing up the little plastic pieces inside.

It'll be critical to have fuel pressure readings later on while you are tuning your new combo out, so getting a guage now is a good idea and will help troubleshoot.

As far as the cam sensor, if it was rotated by mistake or the cap was damaged, it can cause no start.

I got a noid light today. No flashes, so it means ecm is not sending any signals to injectors. Tommorow i'll get a gauge to make sure i have adequate pressure in the fuel rail.

I found fuel injector harness power wire disconected.
After i fixed that, car started for the first time. Cool.
Thanks for the comments.
