Anyone buy a new coil for their TR lately? Did you happen to notice where it was manufactured?

I picked one up off of EBay awhile back. An unused, AC Delco coil with the proper #'s. However, after opening the box and checking it out, I see that it is made in China. The bottom of the coil looks like it has a LOT less resin fill in it. The resistance and all that checks out. Haven't put it on my Casper's device. And I really don't have a Kv meter to check spark voltage. In short it looks OK. Just...well, different. All the packing appears to be legit. Possibly a move by GM to start making more money.

Anyone else observe this? Or care?

Well, I will probaly care because that looks like what I might be buying to fix my ride, is there an easy way to check the ignition coil to see if it is bad?

Perhaps you are not aware that many parts for NEW GM vehicles are made in China, South Africa or else. They want to cut the cost and conform to trade laws.
