Hi. I just got my GN back from the shop. I popped the hood to replace the alternator and I found this piece just hangin on top of the engine. It's attached to a bolt that screws back in somewhere. Can anyone tell me what it is and where it goes? Much gras in advance!

That is your wastegate solenoid. It needs the be on your passinger side valve cover, the long stud attached to it will be the bolt to hold down the valve cover. If needed I can send a pic of this in its proper place.

Why? The only reason to remove the bolt/stud would be to remove the valve cover. Any valvetrain work done on your car lately?

Otherwise, I would be asking a LOT of questions.
