I'm getting a code 32. According to the code reference it means the egr is not where it's supposed to be. According to the conditions for setting the code my coolant temp is supposed to be over 118 deg F. I'm getting this code upon cold start and intermittently while driving after obtaining operating temps, usually on a high vacuum, closed throttle, decel where the car is just coasting down. What is the basic operation of the egr valve as far as when is it supposed to open and when should it close? Other conditions listed are egr solenoid duty cycle less that 65% and LV8 is less than 100. What exactly is LV8? I've replaced the egr with a new GM egr valve. My old one was sticking but the new one has not helped. Just one more thing to figure out before this thing is tuned.

It sounds like the control box for the EGR is toasted ... it's the black square box with a cap like filter on it on the driver's side manifold towards the firewall.
