I ran a 12.44 2.1 60ft but a 114 trap speed on a bad tune . How does the trap speed look and what can I expect to see. I looked at the calculations but I see people on here doing better with slower times. For instince I'm told my combo is good to 10.80's to 11.20's pte frt mnt, te 60, 60lbs inj, gn1 race ported,210 grind cam, 3 inch dp/w cutout, but if this is true the calculations say you need 534 rwhp to run 11 flat at 3600lbs but the turbo is only good for 600hp at the crank right, Am I wrong our what am I missing.

First, what boost and fuel are you running? That is pretty critical to your power output.

That MPH should be enough for and 11.80-11.70. With a good tire, suspension, and launch technique, you should be able to get a 1.60-ish short time. That would shave and easy .5 off your short time and a LOT off the totat 1/4 mile time. However, 114 is still only enough for a mid to high 11.

Did you record any data on your run?

The parts list does sound like the start of a low-11 or better combo.

I'm only running 19lbs boost, street chip, 94 octane et streets ****ty converter, the real question is will the te 60 take me to the tens and how come the et chart says not even close? is it the fact that these cars make alot more torque then the normally asperated hp car.

It's all a matter of maximizing the combo... Several things you are doing is compromising the combo:

E.T. Streets and a weak converter ... shows up in the bad sixty foot time
19 psi on 94 octane ... not really in the "sweet spot" for the turbo and octane limited. Probably detonation is retarding the timing a bit as well.
"Bad Tune" means to me that it's probably rich, which is making the turbo spool slower and not making power like it should.

The above stuff is pretty easy to work on and fix. You should see immediate improvements on race gas, which will translate to about 1 MPH per additional PSI of boost. SO ... if you turn it up to where the turbo is more efficient, say 24 psi .. that's another 5 MPH in trap and should get you low 11s @ ~120 MPH with a sixty foot time in the 1.5s (pretty close to 11.0).

To get those 60 foots, you'll need slicks, good calibration, and the converter fixed (or drive the heck out of it on a stock converter ... I've done that, but it isn't the easiest way).

With more tuning and a touch more boost, you might dip into the very high 10s, but at that weight and with that turbo, you'll probably have the turbo out of it's efficiency range. I have a TA61 and we saw 650 HP on the engine dyno with 60 # injectors and a stretch intercooler. It was starting to drop off in efficiency according to outlet temps.

for every 1 tenth you improve on your 60ft, you will gain you 2 tenth improvement on your 1/4 ET

sweet, thanks I have the right converter(3500stall) in the garage I'm just waiting for the sfi flexplate to get here. What race fuel should I use and I will have to change the chip right. What turbo should I get to run 9/low 10's and can I still use my 3500 stall?

Maybe. But a TE60 and 60 lb. injectors won't go 9's. Possibly not 10's. Certainly not deep 10's.

Why not first learn to tune the combo you currently have?

well, I'm trying to run low 10's to high nines. If my current parts will not run there (which is a fact). I'm going to look for what will. I'm not really interested in spending too much time tuning a setup to run 11's when I could be working the bugs out of a 9-10 sec car.unfortunatly I bought some of this stuff before I had this new goal. It started as my daily driver and got about 3000 miles on it over the past 3 years,so I figured I'll make it fast. I'm just trying to see what parts will stay and whats gotta go.Whats a good turbo to run into the 9's with

That's a quantum leap to the 9s ...

We're talking the fastest stock block TSM cars.

You'll need a much bigger turbo (T72-T76 or even step up to a T88), 90# injectors or thereabouts, more fuel system, more head work, suspension work (you'll need 1.4 short times), more tire, and probably more intercooler when it's all done. Probably just strip off most of the bolt ons you have now and start over.

thats alot of stuff still to do. Maybe I'll just build a diffrent car for it. sounds like high tens is pretty easy but after that it gets nuts
