T.C.I. rebuild/shift kit

I have an 87 2004r out of a v8 cutlass,serial no 328-87htf0168,I was wondering if this is a good core for a rebuild?Also if anyone has used the T.C.I.pro super rebuild kit and if it's a good kit...thanx for any info you can offer.
