I am beginning to improve my 85 GN. The previous owner had a makeshift cold air kit installed. 9" KN filter in front of the radiator. It looks like a plastic dryer vent tube connected to the MAF pipe. I want to replace the dryer tube, it has a tear in the plastic I found after installing my trans cooler. Obviously I will need a 90 elbow. Just wondering what others are using. Hate to buy a whole kit when I already have the filter.

just get some 3" pipe and some silcone hose and go to town. It takes a little thinking and fab work but with enough time anyone can make a cold air kit.

You can buy a kit without a filter too. I case you desire something pretty under your hood, if that is your style.

Not to sound like too big of a knucklehead, but what type of pipe or tubing do you use? Thanks for the replies.

I use that mostly because it is cheap and can be painted easy. I am cheap though. You can buy aluminum mandrel bends of e-bay.
