ever since i readjusted my tranny shift cable the car will flare going in to 3rd gear. the reason why i adjusted the cable is the car was short shifting itself and this helped stop the short shift. but now when i accelerate maybe half throtal the car will flare and flare pretty good. how can i stop the flaring at low acceleration?? it dose not do it at wot

ps.. have a shift kit in tranny

Try adding 1/2 quart of fluid. You may be running it low during acceleration. Its OK to overfill it slightly.

i always send the 2004r's & the 700r4's out the door to the top of the full mark when cold! never had a issue with this :drive:

i added a quart of fluid to it and it seems to be a little better but not totaly gone.. could the transmission actually be slipping?

you could have a few issues, i have seen some trouble with the accumulators. the pistons will wear in the pin area & can cause flares, hard or soft shifts ect... :lite:

I had the same problem with a B&M kit. Got a new kit and seperator plate from Mike Kurtz and started from scratch. Problem went away.

Don't leave it to long or something may decide to fry itself.

Ian,

What kit do you have now? I am looking to sharpen up the stock shift points some, but nothing that will ake the car a bear to drive!
