I was just reading on another post..

did anyone ever try putting the fwd heads on a TR? what are the advantages? more information would be great on this...

Yes. Its called an '89 Turbo Trans Am. They needed a narrower setup because they don't have the room between the struts for the RWD drive heads.

They are the early FWD heads. And they take different headers, of course. Seem to work fine. Not sure they really provide any flow advantages.

I think the original post was inquiring about FWD block buildups.

So the stock headers won't bolt up with them??

The exhaust ports are shorter (which makes the head narrower to fit between the strut towers). Stock TR headers won't line up correctly.

There have some reports of slight airflow improvement, but it'd be easier and cheaper to port the stockers.

great! thanks.... was just curious to see if it was worth it ... idea scrapped :p
