I have 4 GNX rims, fronts only 8 inches wide. I want to run them on an 87 Grand National. Tire place told me 245/50/16's were too big, couldn't make the full turning radius. Any suggestions?

That should be fine. Might graze the inner liners on extreme lock.

friend of mine has 235/60/15 on his stock 87 T, they look really good, he has no rubbing problems at all. a 245 is only 1 CM wider, should fit but like keller says, they may rub a tad

Wider, but also taller. Everyone seems to forget that the "50" means "50% of 255mm". So that is a little more than "50% of 245mm". Not much, but it counts. And does throw off your speedo/odo over time. Which affects your lockup, odo readings over time, etc.

I have 235/60-15's, and they do hit the inners when I turn at least one direction to full lock. So I try to avoid doing it. Not too tough.

Regardless, 245/50-16 should be fine on the correct wheels.

I knew that, I just had my head too far up the bunghole to remember to mention that :duh:

i have the trans am gta rims on my car with 245 50 16s up front and if you crank the wheel hard you will hit inner fender/ and sway bar. just becareful in a parking lot other than that its fine. i also added a 3/16in spacer up front and they work well
