As elders have always told me, something is worth what someone will pay for it. How true...Anyway, as I look at cars sold at auction, I notice not just 1,2,3, condition ratings, but 1-, 2+, 2-, 3+, 3-......................a number 1 car is fairly self explanatory, but what is the difference between a #3 and a #3- or #3+ car or a #2 and a #2- or #2+ car?

A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, etc.
Same idea i'm sure.

It's these reasons that I don't think I could ever buy a car sight unseen. I would have to see it right in front of me...touch it...drive it...whatever. Internet explanations don't hold much for me.

For something so objective, I don't understand how there can really be a standardized scale..........Everyone is going to notice something different.....I too will never buy a car sight unseen as nice to me and nice to them usually are very different....

Thats what I thought too until i saw this rust free Southern California car.
I bought my '88 Lesabre T-Type without seeing it in person. It has 230000miles. I made the guy send like 150 pictures and copies of all the maintaince records. I talked with him over the phone for a while and flew 2100 miles to go buy it cash in hand. Then i drove it home. Really happy with it too. The car was a real steal i got it for a grand.

I agree things are only worth what people will pay. But dont you hate it when people with deep pockets ruin a car market?
