direct scan via USB adapter

I have Direct scan and an ancient laptop. The laptop died and I'm finding that most modern ones come without parallel ports. Has anyone successfully used direct scan via USB adapter ?

I doubt that you'll find a parallel to USB adapter that will work, since DS doesn't use standard parallel data.

Nope..tried it many times as an experiment...Cant get the USB adapter to assign it a "normal" parallel address and forget it if you are trying it right from DOS...
