Accumulator

I have an original accumulator from GM which was purchased as a spare about five years ago and has never been used. My question is does age have any effect on the useful life of the accumulator?

As long as it hasn't been in a poor environment, it should not have been a problem. The internal seals are usually the issue. So yes, they can age. But if its been in decent conditions, it should work fine.
