Re: Need help have a pic included
My guess is that your rear main seal on the engine is leaking and the oil is blowing back to other regions on the underside of the car.
Look directly under the car, right between the transmission and engine. You may see a great deal of oil leakage coming from this are, and blown out over the torque converter shield, transmission pan, exhaust, and floorboards. See http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/engine/rearmain.html for repair info. |
Re: Need help have a pic included
i had that prob many years ago, was not the rear main seal, but was a bad leak on the oil sending unit. the oil will leak down from the engine area and "flow" to the back of the car. also, in my case you may want to check the fiberglass rear bumper area beneath the license plate. if it is silty or oily that can confirm a blow back oil leak. my want to try the oil additive with a black light to find the source. Thanks, Joseph.

I had a 83 Regal that the heater core went bad in it and it seeped through right in the same spot. Is the fluid oil (brownish) or is it anti-freeze (green)? If it is the heater core it is rather easy to fix (about an hour). Good Luck!
