suspension kits

I am looking at suspension kits for my 84 t-type. Edelbrock and Hotchkiss look good. Is there a better one ? Or does some one know the best spring rates and shocks to do it piece meal and save money? What about upper control arms? What will they doo for me , other than saving weight? Car will be a street car, not much drag racing.
