Default What is this?

What type of information does the scanmaster record and what is it used for?

http://www.turbo-link.com/tlink/scanchart.html sort of sums them all up.

Bang Head Re: What is this?

Ive been looking into the scanmaster for my 87 T-Type Lesabre. Imtold that yes, it does work in this vehicle. Id like datalogging which apparantly the scanmaster doesnt support. However, directscan does. So.... if both units are available for the 87 turbo regal and the scanmaster works in the Lesabre, will the directscan also work???

How exactly is the directscan " directly connected to ecm bus"? Is this difficult? Are instructions included regarding wiring??

Thanks for the newbie help

Question Re: What is this?

I'm not sure DirectScan would work with your car. I would suggest contacting the manufacturer to be sure. The TR ECM is a fairly standard piece used in several different GM cars (1227148), but the chip used in the TR's is not. Good question.

The connection to the 'bus' happens via a connector on the backside of the ECM that is not normally exposed. It must be cleaned of clear protectant, and the aluminum ECM case modified to allow another cable to be attached to it.

DirectScan is Chu Engineering. http://www.chuengineering.com/

ScanMaster is designed by Bob Bailey. I think you can reach him at http://www.fullthrottlespeed.com/
