Default Balancer Timing Grooves

Why are there two timing mark grooves in the harmonic balancer on my 87 T? Also the degree indicator tab has a zero mark and there is a visual timing sight tube right next to it. What's the deal? Thanks.

Default Re: Balancer Timing Grooves

one has been added by some one as a mark for setting the cam sensor.
I did the same to mine when I had the motor out, the first one should be the TDC mark the second should be 25 degrees ATDC
