Default old vs new come on in help help

hello i am new to this forum i am in orlando and this is my first post i am getting a 78 buick ttype turbo i was wondering if i could take the whole computer and top end off of like an 84 and up turbo 3.8 and if it would just bolt right on it thanks!!! just give me all the info you have on old vs new stuff thanks!

Maybe. But I think you ought to look over http://www.gnttype.org/general/v6hist.html and think it over a bit. "Just bolting it on" might not be so trivial, as many little changes happened over that time span. Also, the headers, fuel injection, fuel tank, fuel pump (electric) and lines, wiring, etc., etc. would have to be there too. It would not be a trivial swap. Might as well swap the engine at that point, and bring the rest of the drivetrain (trans and rear) with it (if its handy), too.
