whistling sound
Just finished rebuiding to swap heads. The first time around I put down a thin
line of rtv on both sides of the valley pan before assembling the intake mani- -fold this time I didn't, only on the four corners where the rubber ends are. I now have developed a whistling sound @ idle, increasing an decreasing de- -pending on accelleration or not........... I've checked for unplugged vacum lines, everything appears o.k. is it possible I have an intake manifold leak??? Before I go ahead an remove the intake again is there some way for me to chk. for leak without removing it??? Any suggestions would sure be appreciated as i'm getting tired of tearing down an going up. Thanks again. |

Re: whistling sound
Take a can of carb. cleaner and spray it around the intake and vac. lines while the car is running. If the sound and or idle changes you've found your leak.
