Question 218/218 comp?

First I would like to thank the individuals who were a tremendous help the last time I posted a thread. Question, my machinist ordered me a 218/218 comp cam, and he said I wouldn't have to do anything but get a chip, is this possible to run this cam with just a chip, maybe from reds. In the near future I'd like to replace injecters 42.5's, 009's, and a bigger turbo, then probably a torq converter. Economics have limited me to certain emmediate upgrades. I'm rebuilding the motor and got sticker shock when I ordered a set of GM lifters @ 19$ a piece. Any comments, opinions, or concerns are always welcom. Thanx ,
