Featured Car - Derrick O'Brien's 1987 Grand National

Derrick's car was purchased in 1995 and was completely stock, down to the original air cleaner! He was very impressed with the power from the stocker, but the Dark Side was calling and after thousands of hours in the garage he came up with this 10 second screamer! The car has a nice stance and obviously enough power to make even Darth Vader grin...

Transmission/Rear End

  • PTS Billet Killer Street 200/4R WITH Batbrake
  • PTS 9" Billet non-lockup torque converter

Planned Modifications

  • TA Performance 3.8 Aluminum shortblock (bored to 4.0" and stroked with 3.6 crank)
    Possibly twin turbo after TA block released.

Suspension/Tires

  • Air Bag in Passenger side
  • Pinion snubber
  • Bell Tech 2" drop spindles
  • 1.5" lowering springs in rear
  • Boyd Coddington 18x9.5" rear/17x8" front custom wheels

Performance

  • 10.87@127 mph in 1/4 with WAY more potential
  • Full weight car (only weight reducing is removal of A/C and Heater)
