While at the track the other day another guy with a GN told me that the new Ford Thundeerbirds have injectors on their 3.8 V6's that are interchangeable with the GN's 3.8. I thought this to be strange seeing that it would be a Ford-GM and a OBDI-OBDII swap which seems like it wouldn't work. I was curious if anyone else had heard anything about this or knew if it was possible. He was also saying that the Thunderbirds injectors where around 40-42 lbs which is where I want to be and that I could go to a junkyard and pick some up for cheap off a wrecked one get them cleaned and install them for alot less than brand new ones. Any thoughts?

He's probably talking about the old Ford "SuperCoupe" injectors (or Red Tops). They were about 32# injectors and not all that whoopee ...

Save your $$$ and buy the right injector instead ...

As an aside, injectors don't know anything about OBDI or OBDII ... connectors have changed to USCAR style connectors, but several places make adapters that will allow most any injector to be used with any car.
