I have an '87 T-Type with the 3.8 Turbo motor. The fuel line that comes up from the frame to the fuel rail has a small hole in the flex portion of the hose. When I researched the factory parts for this, I was anticipating that the line I was working with was the feed and not the return, but when I finally found a diagram of these it showed that the feed was the line that went into the fuel rail was on the passenger side (opposite of the side where the pressure reglulator is). The line I need and found via GM Parts Locator is for the side that goes into the bottom of the pressure regulator.

My question is about the feed coming into the rail and it being regulated going back to the tank. Is this correct?

Just seems backward to me. :dunno:

Yep, that's the way it works ... basically, you pressurize the rail and then on the furthest point away from the feed, you bleed off any excess fuel/pressure with the regulator.

That way the injectors always see the entire VOLUME of fuel ...

Ken,

Thanks for the speedy reply. You are always a great resource. Guess it makes sense now, but at first I thought the fuel hit the regulator first.
