Car Dies when I punch it

I just bought a '87 GN w 130k miles.This car is awesome.But when I stomp the accelerator the car leans out and dies,if I let off its ok.I change the fuel filter and also dropped the gas tank and put a new filter sock on the pump.Help this is a great car if it will run.

Perhaps the pump is due for replacement. If its original, its LONG overdue. They were barely adequate to begin with.

A new modern high-flow pump and a hot-wire kit are almost de rigeur.

However, there could be other problems. You could confirm the lack of fuel delivery with a fuel pressure gauge.

try tapping on the maf sensor when its running / idle..

i agree with Scott get a fuel pressure gauge so you can see it when ya stomp on it
