I HAVE A 87GN THAT I'VE DUNN A FULL UP RESTORATION.
I BOARD IT 30 OVER,I'M RUNNING A TE44C ,42 1/2 INJ ,93 POSTONS CHIP WITH THER HEADERS,3INC DOWN PIPE, 2 1/2 EXAUST,GN1 PERFORMANCE PLATE, 62MMACCUFAB TB& PENULM.ETC

I READ THE SECETS OF RACE GAS & GASOLINE FAQ.
I FELT LOST WHEN READNG BOTH OF THEM.
I THINK I GOT A LITTLE BIT OF THE RON METHOD I THINK MY CAR'S "MO" IS 93 BECAUSE I'M RUNNING POSTONS 93 CHIP. SO IT WOULD MAKE THE CARS "MO" CHANGE RIGHT.
I WAS GONNA USE THIS FUEL I THINK IT'S 105 OCTANE MY BUDDY SAID IT'S AIRPLANE FUEL MY OTHER FRIEND SAID IT IS RACE IN ANY CASE THERE WAS ANOTHER ARTICLE THAT SAID F YOU HAVE A CAR USEING A CAT YOU SHOULDN'T AVIATION FUEL WHY? AFTER ALL THIS IM NOW CONFUSED. :dunno: I DON'T WANT TO GET VAPOR LOCK :ugh:
I'M SCARED SOME ONE PLEASE HELP????????
ALSO WHAT SHOULD MY O2 MILLIVOLTS BE @ IDEL?,&HOW DO I RAISE THEM? p.s Do i need to run a cat or can i run my test pipe i thought i need the cat for back pressur

Alrighty, first things first ... Turn off your caps lock? Makes it hard to read.

1. Octane isn't something that will cause damage ... or vapor lock. MON is "motor octane" and isn't commonly used in commercial measurements. Race gas often has both MON and RON because it makes a real difference in high revving race engines.

Bottom line, your 93 chip is for high octane pump gas ... i.e. 93 R+M/2 (or the average of RON and MON). 93 octane "premium" may actually be 91 or 92 octane at higher altitudes (and is fine).

2. Aviation fuel is high octane fuel and has relatively few downsides except that it may need some tuning to richen it up (since it has a higher content of "light aromatics" for high altitude operation) and that it has a LOT of lead which will kill catalytic converters very quickly (and O2 sensors eventually).

There is such thing as unleaded racing gasoline with 100+ octane that is pretty good stuff!

3. Cats ... if you have to pass emissions in your area, then yes, you need a cat. If you don't , then it's your call ... a good high flow cat isn't much of a restriction. If you do run a cat, NO LEADED FUEL ...

To dispel the old wive's tale about "you need backpressure" :mgun:... the less restriction (i.e. backpressure) the better! The turbo itself is a huge restriction, so anything downstream needs to flow freely! Even in a normally aspirated application, backpressure is NOT desirable. :hyper:

Thanks!! that's the news i've been waiting to hear.
I had all my friends tell me i didn't need back pressure, but i wasn't too for sure.
Does octane effect o2millivolt?
My car runs @ 400 when idling but jumps to 7-800 when i step on it,then drops to 260-380-400 when i let off.
This is why i thought i need higher octane but was confused on how to go about it.
thanks so much for the helpful input sir i appreciate it!!!

Sound normal ... take a look here for basic guidelines:
